What is endocrinology?
Endocrinology is a subspeciality of internal medicine concerned with the study of the function of the endocrine glands such as the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, pituitary gland, ovaries, testes and pancreas. Endocrinologists are also involved in the study of metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis and urinary stones, obesity and disorders of cholesterol and blood lipids.
